Hi there Queens!

Have you ever come across those midsized, small and smooth egg shaped shells, often colorful patterned as you soaked your feet at the shores of the beach?

Hi there Kings and Queens : You asked for it and it is almost here . : If you’re like us, we’ve been enjoying long walks on the beach this summer basking in the sun with our #SISAALA Baking Oil (SIDE NOTE - We are SOLD OUT!). We love walking to the tip of the shore where the waves kiss the lips of the sand. : But, have you ever come across those midsized, small, smooth and glossy egg shaped shells, often colorful patterned as you soak your feet at the shores of the beach? : Or have you heard of the common tongue twister, he sells Sea shells at the Sea shore? Let me give you a brief history. Cowrie shells are the single most identifiable symbol of African culture today. The cowrie is a small marine snail that lives in tropical waters off the Pacific and Indian oceans. The word cowrie is used to refer to shells of animals that grow around themselves. : : In Ancient Africa, Cowrie shells were the first currency used by mankind. They were a representation of wealth and were traded for food, goods and services and they represented the power of destiny and prosperity. Thousands of years ago the Chinese used Cowries as a form of currency so often that it's now the shape of their pictograph for money. In some cultures like traditional Japan, woman in labor hold cowrie shells in their hands to aid with the progression of childbirth. And in Pompeii, women wear cowrie shell necklaces as a symbol of fertility. : : Cowrie beads are considered powerful and although many people have tried to reproduce them by using fake materials that make them look glossy and cheap, if you can get your hands on real cowrie beads, then you are holding a large piece of African culture! : : #KingsandQueens!. #LoveYourSkin #health #lifestyle #africanwomen #skincare #ghana #hamamat #westafrica #hab #beauty #africanbeauty #africanskincare #natural #loveyourself #awareness #kingsandqueens#beautytips #allnatural #blackbeauty #loveyourskin #Africanking

Maybe you didn’t think much of it before, but I want to share some more history about your royalty as Queens! Let me give you a brief history.

Cowrie shells are the single most identifiable symbol of African culture today.

The cowrie is a small marine snail that lives in tropical waters off the Pacific and Indian oceans. The word cowrie is used to refer to shells of animals that grow around themselves.

In Ancient Africa, Cowrie shells were the first currency used by mankind. They were a representation of wealth and were traded for food, goods and services and they represented the power of destiny and prosperity.

Thousands of years ago the Chinese used Cowries as a form of currency so often that it’s now the shape of their pictograph for money.

In some cultures like traditional Japan, woman in labor hold cowrie shells in their hands to aid with the progression of childbirth. And in Pompeii, women wear cowrie shell necklaces as a symbol of fertility.

Cowrie beads are considered powerful and although many people have tried to reproduce them by using fake materials that make them look glossy and cheap, if you can get your hands on real cowrie beads, then you are holding a large piece of African culture!

Because of their unique and scarce nature, cowries have often been referred to as the African Gold!

I’ve handcrafted my first ever Cowrie Bikini’s with REAL authentic African cowrie beads. My Cowrie Bikini sets are another way for you to dress yourself in royalty, Queens!

Baking Oil – Melanin GLOW

Hello there Kings and Queens!

It’s time to BAKE YOUR SKIN – Melanin GLOW.

The long wait is finally over. Summer is here again! It’s time to set aside those chunky knits and thick sweaters and shove those jackets to the back of your closet.

Most women love summer because it is the time of the year they get to show off some skin. After being trapped under layers of clothing, summer is the time when we can finally let our skin breathe. Unfortunately, the harsh weather of the previous months have left our skin dull and dry. We feel insecure about wearing that trendy off-shoulder top or that cute mini skirt. Thankfully, there are natural solutions to restore your skin’s radiance.

Our Golden Shea Butter can soothe your dry skin like no other beauty product; and best of all, it can work for any skin tone. Having great skin is like setting a solid foundation for your dream house. To achieve your utmost beauty, you must start with your skin.

When you have your skin healthy and moisturized, you are now ready to beat the summer heat with your fave fashion finds!

To feel the summer in full swing, add SISAALA Baking Oil to your skincare regimen and get that sun-kissed look that spells out s-u-m-m-e-r!

We like to say here, it’s time to BAKE YOUR SKIN – Melanin GLOW.

SISAALA Baking Oil is made from a special mixture of shea butter oil, hibiscus, virgin coconut oil and indigenous West African herbs. This baking oil will make your skin glow and give it that beautiful tanned complexion that is highly sought after all over the world. Use it for tanning or to even out your skin tone.

We will be sharing more about our Baking Oil. It’ll be available this July!

Lots of love,
